Wilteexs Bioethanol Fuel Bottles Recall Class Action Lawsuit
On October 16, 2025, Wilteexs issued a recall for their Bioethanol Fuel Bottles. According to recall number 26-030, the ethanol fuel bottles violate federal safety standards for portable fuel containers because they lack flame mitigation devices as required by the Portable Fuel Container Safety Act. This poses a fatal risk of flash fire. The containers also fail to meet safety regulations for deceptive disclaimers as required by the Federal Hazardous Substances Act because the company claims that the contents of the bottle are “Non Toxic.”
The recall affects approximately 1,100 products. The Wilteexs-branded bottles of bioethanol are used for tabletop firepits, fireplaces, stoves, and burners. They are 1.06 quart (1 liter) clear bottles pre-filled with fuel. The bottles have “WILTEEXS,” “BIO ETHANOL,” and an image of a burning flame printed in blue and while on the front side of the bottles. The back of the bottles have “X00 4IQ9ZCH” printed below the barcode.
The company is urging all affected consumers to immediately stop using the affected fuel bottles, place them out of reach of children, and contact them for a full refund. Consumers will need to write “do not use” along with the Amazon order number on the bottle and submit a photo. Consumers will also need to dispose of the fuel bottles in accordance to local laws/regulations regarding hazardous waste disposal.
The recalled fuel bottles were sold via Amazon from April 2025 to July 2025 for about $17 each.
